Youth empowerment

The future of Somalia rests on empowering its large youth population, according the UN Development Programme’s 2012 Somalia Human Development Report. The report was launched on the margins of the UN General Assembly’s annual debate. It contains a Youth Charter developed by youth representatives from various regions in Somalia as well as from the Diaspora.

VACSOM is aiming to promote inclusion and focus on interventions that sustainably equip youth with appropriate business solutions and strong market connections. We intend to establish vocational training centers in partnership with private and international agencies to increase technical capacity and youth skills so they can get sustainable source of income generation.
